Frequently Asked Questions

No. United IPA is not an employer and does not buy practices. You retain full ownership and clinical autonomy. We provide contracting, quality support, and technology — you run your practice.

Our AI platform integrates with your EHR to analyze encounters, identify documentation and coding gaps, and flag rising-risk patients. You review and approve any suggestions — the tool supports your judgment rather than replacing it. All recommendations are transparent, auditable, and compliant with CMS and payer documentation standards.

United IPA holds value-based contracts with major commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid Managed Care payers in New York. Specific contracts available to you will depend on your specialty, location, and panel. Provider Relations will walk you through the applicable contracts during onboarding.

There are no upfront membership fees. United IPA is funded through administrative allocations from payer contracts. Full economic terms are disclosed in the Participation Agreement before you sign.

Quality bonuses and shared savings are distributed according to a transparent, physician-approved methodology that rewards individual performance, measure closure, and network contribution. Distribution terms are explained in detail during onboarding, and every member can see exactly how their distribution is calculated.

Most practices are fully onboarded within 60 to 90 days of signing the Participation Agreement, depending on credentialing timelines with each payer. Credentialing is the longest step, and we manage it end-to-end so your team doesn’t have to.

No. We integrate with all major EHR platforms and work alongside your current system. Our tools deliver insights into the workflows you already use.

You keep the contracts you already have. Joining United IPA adds access to network-negotiated contracts — it does not require giving up existing relationships. In some cases, better terms may become available to you over time through the network.

All data exchange is fully HIPAA-compliant and conducted under Business Associate Agreements. We use encryption at rest and in transit, maintain SOC 2 controls, and only access the minimum data necessary to support your practice.

The Participation Agreement contains clear, fair termination provisions. We believe in earning your partnership every year — not locking you in. If United IPA ever stops being the right fit for your practice, we will support a smooth transition.

Every practice has a named Provider Relations representative, a Quality Liaison, and a Credentialing contact. You will know exactly who to call — no phone trees, no ticket queues for the things that matter.
